Milk and Honey- Rupi Kaur

I bought this book almost a year ago, I managed to read it this week. After seeing many people share Rupi’s poems on Instagram I knew I had to give it a read. I have to say it was a truly magical read…each page was a breath of fresh air. The poems are split into four chapters, the hurting, the loving, the breaking and the healing.

The healing was my favourite chapter as it made me look deeper into my life situations and how to mend. Rupi Kaur has a way with her words, intimate with feminine magic. So happy I finally read this book.

Sunday Reads: Words From a Wanderer – Alex Elle

Alex Elle book

Recently I have been reading a lot of poetry, especially from writers of colour as they always have a perspective I can relate to. I discovered Alex Elle through her Instagram page which has a rather blissful aesthetic and she is a self-care enthusiast which I love. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end as it shows much vulnerability, through the diary entry style notes to herself. This book has many themes from life, love and relationships. This book also shows the hard but necessary journey a woman takes to mend herself through heartbreak. This book is definitely  worth a read for young women.

To find out more about Alex Elle check her out on her blog www.anthrsnday.com .
